Bravehearts Story

17.04.03: It must have been my "6th sense",what made me order the double amount of pet-food this day!!
The same day, I did receive a call from the Caboolture Pound, just to let me know, a very young male Boxer was there- and his time was running out!!! Working with the manager from the pound, when it comes to "boxer-rescue" ,for a long time- I knew, straight away- it was serious- once again!!!!
(I've rescued SEVEN!!!! BOXERS  since 2002 from the Caboolture Pound !!!!) Makes you wonder!!!?????
I big thank you must go to IAN, who's a doglover and I'm soo glad, we do work together!!!  Without his help, all those wonderful boxers would be dead by now, for no reason!!!!

Cut a long story short:
I've got my "Easterbunny"!!!

Picked up an about 16 months old male tan boxer, entire ,weight 24.1kg, bloodshot right eye and wounds (infected) all over his right side of his body and leg!!! (barbwire,dog-fight-car-accident??????)
We will never know- if they only could talk!!!!!

Out of the pound and straight to my Vet:Graham Lean Animal Hospital Landsborough for the first check up!
Apart from the wounds and malnutrition- a healthy young boxer!!   What a relief!!!!!!!!!

Since, we didn't have any background on the Boxer (no collar, not micro-chipped): I've baptised him :"BRAVEHEART"- since, he must have gone through a lot!!! and he handled it soo well!!
He just settled in so well at my place, and after heaps of TLC and 6 small meals for the first few days (the best only!!!!!!!!!) you can imagine!!! and taking care of his wounds- he was ready- to meet my gang!!!!
What a moment of joy for all of us!!!!!!!
"Braveheart" took to all of them straight away and so did my gang!!!
I've had tears in my eyes, watching Braveheart with my gang running and playing in the property- even with the next door GSD!!!!  Just fun between dogs!!!!!! so good to see!!!!
Over the next few days Braveheart got stronger and put on weight, his wounds started to heal and it was time for me, to think about finding a responsible good home for him, since, he started "bonding to all of us"!!
28.04.03: Braveheart goes to the Vet Graham Lean for surgery: de-sexing and vaccination C4 and another check up!!
30.04.03: "Braveheart" goes to his new home: a loving, caring home, responsible people, with knowledge of a boxer (had boxers before), not very far from my place!! (so, I can keep an eye on him LOL and visit him!!!)
"Braveheart" went to his new folks:
de-sexed
vaccinated C4
on heartguard and wormed
Frontline applied
and!!! weighing proudly 29.1kg!!!!!!!!! (putting on 5kg in 12 days) !!
It was hard for me, letting him go-since he took to all of us from day one!!!
But, that's the way, it's supposed to be!
I'm ready for the next boxer in need!!!! 24/7

A big thank you must go to my Vet Graham Lean Animal Hospital Landsborough, who supports me generously with my incoming rescue-boxers!
Also, thanks to my husband Zoltan and my son Patrick- who stand behind me and helping out with my boxer-rescue-work!
Love you all!!!
"To own a boxer- it's NOT a gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's a PRIVILEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
