Critique - Queensland Boxer Club Kim Morrow Memorial Show Judge: Ms Lucille Corbett - Tonup Boxers 7th August 2016

Thank you to the Club for inviting me to judge at your show. The overall quality of the dogs was very good, they were extremely well presented and handled and made my day very pleasurable. As a general comment, the dogs all moved very well, true coming and going and showing reach and drive on the side movement, only a couple of dogs showed rotary hind movement, which has been a problem in the breed. Heads overall were pretty good, there were a number of smaller eyes, which detracts from the expression, eye colour was good, mouths fair, a lot of dogs had very small incisors, a problem overall in the breed.

Class 1 Baby Puppy Dog.

1st    No 3. Gemcharm Born to Shine.

Substantial boy, compact, dark eye, nice head, good angulation front and back, moved well for age.

2nd    No 2. Casqueen Diesel Power.

Promising youngster, going through a leggy stage. Good head proportions, excellent front and rear angulation. Moved showing reach and drive.

3rd    No 4. Ozstock O Five

Smart brindle/white boy. Not as strong in head as first two. Moved well.

Class 2 Minor Puppy Dog

1st    No 6. Hogwartz Inferno.

Balanced puppy, pleasant head and expression, good front and rear angulation.

2nd    No 7. Boxvale Starz In Your Eyes.

Nice young boy, good head and expression, could be shorter in coupling. Moved nicely.

3rd    No 8. Boxvale Steppinout.

A bit plainer in head than first two, nice front and rear angulation, moved well.

Class 3 Puppy dog.

1st    No 9. Redbush The Advocate (AI).

Golden brindle, square dog, good front and rear angulation, nice head, sweet expression.

2nd    No 10. Boxvale Take It All.

Attractive dark brindle male, balanced front and rear. Not the expression of the first dog.

Class 4 Junior Dog.

1st    No 11. Kesdar Some Kinda Wonderful

Red male, square, balanced front and rear. Nice head and expression.

Class 5 Intermediate Dog.

1st    No 15. Boxvale You Had Me At Hello

RDCC

Smart brindle male good front, correct angulation, lovely tight feet. Good head proportions, would have liked a larger eye.

2nd    No 13. Chizack Riff Raff

Another smart male, flowing lines, reasonable head.

3rd    No 14. Scitech Don Giovanni

Square golden brindle male, good angulation front and back not as strong in head as first two.

Class 10 Aust Bred Dog

1st    No 17. CH Kirravindee Timings Everything

Upstanding brindle male, nice neck and shoulders, could be a bit shorter in coupling. Beautiful head and expression.

2nd    No 21. CH Hogwartz Im On Fire

Square brindle male, good front and rear angulation, pleasant head and expression.

3rd    No 18. CH Boxberry Surfing Superstar

Good size brindle male, square, lovely head and expression, not as good in topline as first two.

Class 11 Open Dog This was a quality class

1st    No 25. CH Kirilenko De La Finca Sapho (Imp.Esp)

DCC and Best in Show

Lovely square red male, excellent head and expression with correct dark well shaped eye. Good front and back angulation, beautiful overall balance.

2nd    No 29. SUP CH Saxonee Take No Prisoners

9 y/o male, another lovely square male, good head and expression. Correct front and back angulation. Gave nothing away to the younger males in the class, showed with great spirit.

3rd    No 28. CH Bokson Whats The Verdict (AI)

Attractive brindle and white male, good head not as compact as first two.

Attractive dark brindle girl, Nice head and expression, balanced front and back, good topline

Close up to 1st. Nice head and expression, good angles and topline

Another good baby. Pleasing head and expression, good angulation

Good head, correct angulation, excellent topline

2nd    No 38. Jaksamlee Blackops Psychosis

Excellent bone, good feet. Nice head but not the expression of first girl.

3rd    No 37. Jaksamlee Blackops Firebreak

Elegant red and white girl, lovely outline, could do with a stronger muzzle at this stage

Class 3A. Puppy Bitch

1st    No 41. Boxberry Spanish Eyes

Quality red and white puppy, excellent head and expression, correct angulation, good bone and substance, good topline

2nd    No 43. Bandido All Rise

Elegant brindle and white, good angulation and topline, could be stronger in muzzle.

3rd    No 42. Doha Playing For Keeps

Another elegant girl, nice head and expression, good angulation. Very close decision.

Class 4A. Junior Bitch.

1st    No 44. Valeska Pure Mayhem (Imp.NZ)

Square red female, good bone and substance, correct angulation front and rear, reasonable head and expression, overall good balance.

2nd    No 46. Saxonee Ain't No Angel

Square red female, a little stronger in head than 1st placing. Good bone and substance, well balanced

3rd    No 45. Hogwartz Star of Vegas

Elegant brindle and white girl, lovely quality overall, slightly longer in coupling than first two.

Class 5A. Intermediate Bitch.

1st    No 51. Boxvale Carnt Be Tamed

Red female, nicely balanced overall, reasonable head and expression.

2nd    No 50. CH Keljamar Endless Gossip

Smart brindle and white girl, Preferred her head to first but she did not have the overall balance.

3rd    No 49. CH Boxberry Black Beuty

Nice brindle and white female, good head, could do with a bit more length of leg

Class 10A. Aust. Bred Bitch.

1st    No 55. CH Laykoda Leading Lady

Smart brindle and white female, good overall balance, nice neck into shoulders. Lovely head and expression.

2nd    No 53. CH Boxberry When I Grow Up

Lovely typey brindle female. Lovely head and expression, nice front and rear angulation. Not quite in show condition, due to maternal duties.

3rd    No 57. CH Redbush Millenium Diamond (AI)

Good size brindle and white female, strong head, nice balance front and rear.

Class 11A. Open Bitch. An excellent quality class.

1st    No 67. CH Keljamar Here's The Verdict

BCC and RU Best in Show

Compact brindle and white female, excellent quality overall, lovely head and expression, good shoulders and rear angulation.

2nd    No 68. Boxvale Rockinginaquandry

Elegant brindle and white female, nice angulation front and rear. Not quite the head and expression of the first girl.

3rd    No 62. CH Kirravandee Diamonds Are Forever

Another elegant girl, nice head, good angulation front and rear. Topline a little soft on the move.
