QUEENSLAND
BOXER CLUB 60TH ANNIVERSARY CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
12
August, 2018
I would
first like to thank the committee for the honour of allowing me to step into
this judging appointment when the original judge couldn’t make it.
I would
like to reiterate my comments on the day after the judging. The breeders need to
be collectively applauded for the state of the breed in Queensland. In past
appointments throughout Australia, I have to say that the mouths, bites, eyes,
heads, bodies and movement have really improved and I was very spoilt for choice
in nearly every class. The mouths in particular were on the whole stunning –
wide and straight with great teeth. The heads were very good – a few where I
would have preferred a little less loose skin on the skull, a few that needed a
bit more fill under the eyes, a few that just needed a bit more rise of skull
– but generally very good with gorgeous expressions.
The breed is in very good hands here and I believe the Boxers residing in Queensland can take top honours anywhere.

BABY
PUPPY DOG
1ST
MEAHIC
STEAM TRAIN – A very promising young puppy. Very good head proportions for one
so young – beautiful eyes, very good wide underjaw already, well padded muzzle
and clean through the cheek area. Good front and feet. Body proportions very
good and help his topline strong on the move. Moves well with very good reach
and drive. I will be keenly watching how this young man develops.
2nd
MCBOXA LIL B DOUBLE – another promising puppy. A little looser in movement, but when he goes, he goes very well. Lovely head and eye, good padded muzzle. Good front and feet, lovely neck into shoulder. Good body, would prefer him a little shorter in loin. He is a bit more extreme in angles than the winner, but has a lot of scope.

SAXONEE
FORGED BY FIRE – A gorgeous and very promising young dark brindle and white
male that has so much scope for a young dog – already very stallion like.
Beautiful head and eye, gorgeous wide bite and underjaw with lovely clean cheeks
and skull. Although very good for his age, I still see that his head has some
development to go in his muzzle to skull proportions to just put the icing on
the cake. Very good front, length of front leg and strong elegant neck into
shoulder. Very smooth and strong in topline on the stack and on the move. Super
sound fore and aft, with a great profile gait covering the ground with ease.
Handled and presented beautifully.
2ND
BOXVALE THE SHOWMAN – Another very promising young male – red and white with very good short close coat and in super condition. Again, very good mouth and muzzle proportions, beautiful eyes, a little too much loose skin on the head, but he still has a lot of development to go. Strong topline, good forechest and feet. Good neck into shoulder. A little looser in movement than the winner, but still good - another Id like to see in a few years time.

DOG

SAXONEE
STRIKE ZONE
A young brindle male with a nice outline – could be a little better ribbed back. Lovely eye and expression. Head still has a little way to go to the desired muzzle to skull proportions, but the bite and underjaw is superb, as is the ear set. Good neck, lovely topline and feet. Handled well.

LAMBDA DON’T ASK DON’T TELL
As soon
as this young stallion of a dog hit the ring, he took my eye. His gorgeous head
and expression is all male with the correct desired proportions. At the same
time as being masculine, it is very clean and appealing. He portrays everything
for me the standard calls for – expression of energy and intelligence, his
movement free, roomy, firm and elastic; with carriage proud and noble.
Everything was strong, but still clean cut and elegant. Very good front, feet
and hindquarters, strong topline on the stack and on the move from the well
defined withers, square outline to his very good tail set. I was pleased to
award him DCC and BIS
2ND
CH
REDBUSH MAN ABOUT TOWN
Another
very nice young male with good ground covering movement. Tended to hang his head
a bit on the move which spoilt his lovely outline and lost that proud noble
carriage he portrayed when on the stack. Very good head and muzzle with correct
strong wide mouth and bite. Lovely eye and expression. Good front and feet. Good
strong neck into shoulder with clean outline on the stack.
3RD
PHOENWAY
ITSA ME MARIO
A nice young male that just needed a little bit more of everything for me. Nice expression and eye, but lacking width of muzzle in comparison to the skull proportions. Bite could be wider as well. Good coat and condition.

CH
BOXVALE WILL I AM
Very
nice masculine dog with very good outline. Loved his head, eye and expression,
would prefer a cleaner skull as the looser skin gave the illusion of it being
heavier than it actually is. His skull to muzzle proportions were dead on and he
drew me in with his soulful eyes. Strong neck, good withers and topline. Moves
well with purpose, reach and drive. Good front and feet. Great coat in very good
condition.
2ND
PHOENWAY
FRESH PRINCE OFBELAIR (AI)
Very
nice medium sized dog with good head and lovely eye. Would prefer a stronger
underjaw and wider bite. Moves very well with reach and drive. Nice body, clean
neck and good withers. Good feet and shorthocks.
3RD
CH
ALONOT STOP N STARE A CHELLEASON
Nice stallion type dog, good head with very good bite and lovely bright expression. Nice topline. Lacking a little depth in chest when viewed from the front. He is not yet 3 years of age and still has a bit of developing and maturing to go.

KEDASAR SOME KINDA WONDERFUL
Gorgeous
headed dog with very good ratio of muzzle to skull proportions. Loved his
expression and ‘Boxery’ way he looked at me. Excellent bite and underjaw
with clean masculine head. Very good front and forechest, with correct square
proportions. Covered the ground with great purpose, reach and drive. Correct
close short coat. Excellent muscle tone. I was gutted when this dog came into
the Dog challenge line up lame from a green ant bite received in the holding
ring. I'm not sure if he would’ve outshone my stunning CC and RCC winner and
will never know now.
2ND
SUP CH
JUELLE THE GODSON
Very
nice masculine dog. Lovely head and expression, although would have preferred
slightly more definition in stop and rise of skull to balance the powerful
muzzle and strong jaw that this dog has. Good front and forechest with very good
feet. Loved his strong neck into wither and the lovely clean outline. Moved and
showed well with good reach and drive. In overall very good condition.
3RD
BOXVALE
YOU HAD ME AT HELLO (AI)
Very spoilt with this class as all three males were of very good quality. This lovely dog still has so much scope to grow into and I feel has another year to go before he is really where he will be. He has a gorgeous mouth and head proportions, with very good strong muzzle, but just a little wet in head still. Very good forechest and depth of chest, good feet and hindquarters. Covers the ground well on the move - handled well.

BITCHES
BABY
PUPPY
1ST
OARTUM
COLD SPELL
Two very
nice babies. This wee girl had a very good head for her age with very good width
of muzzle, clean cheeks, and ratio of muzzle to skull. Her outline is lovely
with good bone while still being feminine. Exceptional profile gait for one so
young.
2ND
MCBOXA
CHEVNTINO LIL CAMARO
Another lovely young girl with gorgeous expression and lovely coat and condition. Although a nice head, she just didn’t have the width and depth in muzzle or breath in the skull of the winner. Nice mover, but not quite the reach and drive of the winner.
.
MINOR
PUPPY
1ST
PHOENWAY
SEVEN WONDERS
Nice
young bitch with good head and expression. Prefer a wider straighter bite. Good
feet and front. Lovely square clean outline and good hindquarters. She has a lot
of scope. Moves well but still needs to tighten up.
2ND
ZAMDIGO
DODGEINDI HQ
Nice
young bitch with nice eyes and expression – would prefer a wider straighter
bite and better width and depth in muzzle. Nice neck into shoulder with clean
outline. Moves nicely.
3RD
DELBOXA
LIBERTY BELLE
Lovely bodied young bitch, looks very obviously new to the show ring. Her head is very immature at this point and needs to develop more in muzzle and skull. Is in super condition with very good coat and bright eyes.

VALESKA
RASPBERRY COOLI (IMP NZ)
Very pretty young girl with lovely body and clean smart outline. Lovely head proportions with good ratio of muzzle to skull. Unfortunately and sadly spoilt by her very wry mouth that caused her tongue to hang out the side. Good front but could do with a little more depth in front. Moves well, albeit a little loose still due to her young age.
.
JUNIOR
BITCH
1ST
REDBUSH
DIAMOND DIVA
Lovely plain young brindle girl with the best muscling of the day. Very raw and needs more weight on her, but has so much scope. Head has very good proportions with lovely wide bite and the most gorgeous eyes that just draw you in. Very clean square outline. Moves soundly.

PHOENWAY LES MISERABLES
A very
flashy and pretty bitch brindle and white bitch that captivates as she enters
the ring with her big open side gait. Very nice head with good proportions and
lovely bite. Nice clean outline. Id just like to see a little more of her all
over with little more length of front leg to square her up.
2ND
BOXVALE
I GOTTA FEELING
Nice young bitch with lovely clean outline, good front and feet. Nice hindquarters with good short hocks. Her head is very immature and although she has a good mouth – needs more depth, padding and width in muzzle with more defined stop. She covers the ground well on the move.
..
AUSTRALIAN
BRED BITCH

CH
OZSTOCK CURTAIN RAISER
Very
stylish bitch with gorgeous outline. Loved her head and expression with lovely
dark eye. Good front, feet and forechest. Good length of front leg. Strong
withers that flowed into a good topline which she held well on the move. Good
reach and drive.
2ND
BOXVALE
ENCOUNTERING A STAR
It was hard to split these two bitches as they both had lovely heads with beautiful dark eyes full of expression. Like the winner, this bitch moved well and had a lovely outline. What split them was simply the slightly better length of front leg on the winner that gave her a slightly squarer outline.
.
OPEN
BITCH – three gorgeous bitches that were very close in every way.
1ST
CHIZAK
POP MUZIK (IMP NZ)
I just
loved this bitch. She had the most glorious boxery head = slightly stronger than
all the other bitches with great width and depth of muzzle and beautiful mouth,
but still there was no mistaking she was a bitch. Her outline was clean and
square, with a very good forechest, well ribbed back, lovely feet, nice
hindquarters, and good strong short hocks. Super sound coming and going and
covered the ground well in profile with strong topline. Well handled and in
super condition. I was pleased to award her the BCC and Runner up in Show.
2ND
CH
KELJAMAR HERES THE VERDICT
Another
stylish bitch with beautiful head, great mouth and bite, lovely dark eye and
expression. Beautiful clean square outline. Good forechest and depth of chest
with good feet. Moved well, sound coming and going, and very well handled.
Earned a well deserved RBCC.
3RD
SUP CH
LAYKODA LEADING LADY
Again, I
replicate all of the above, a stunning bitch that moved so well with such a
beautiful outline. Very good bite and head. The only thing that separated 2nd
and 3rd was that I preferred the head proportions with depth and
width of muzzle on the 2nd place winner. In saying that, this bitch
still had a lovely head and expression. Handled and presented beautifully.
